About Me
I’ve been registered since 1997 & received Good & Outstanding in my previous Ofsted inspections. I specialise in teaching through song & baby sign & this has particularly useful to the vast majority of families who are bilingual or trilingual that have come to my setting. I believe children hear more words & learn languages quicker if we repeat ourselves by using rhythm & rhymes.
I also have had previous experience of caring for families with twins. I am a mother of 3 daughters who all have finished university & Nanny K to my 2 twin Granddaughters. We live in a large house with a garden and a designated playroom for the children on the ground floor, where they play eat & sleep. It also has a W/C for nappy changing & potty & toilet training.
I enjoy singing the life skills songs with the children that I write to help them with their speech & language, development and to increase their understanding about every day tasks through rhythm & rhyme as we process music in a different part of our brains than we do for spoken word.
My setting provides a warm, caring and stimulating environment where the children in my care will feel safe and secure they are valued and treated as individuals.
Children are given the opportunity to develop physically, socially and emotionally in a home environment.
I don’t do any school runs anymore, this give me more time to allow the children to gain vital life skills like feeding themselves, getting dressed, potty training, teeth brushing & self care.

My setting freely allows children to choose a variety of activities for themselves.
These are some of my daily activities include Playdoh, colouring, sticking, painting, singing, stories, jigsaws dressing up, games and a varied selection of toys for all ages and abilities. Which they also are encouraged to clear away afterward, allowing flexible and structured activities in account of their ages and stages of the children. We use the covered outside area & garden everyday. We also attend local toddler group's and visit the library at times.
When the weather permits we walk to the park, enjoy having picnics visit the woods, soft play and use the local sandpit & splash pool.
In my garden it is full of bikes, scooters, toys, slides, see-saw, pop-up tents and tunnels, sand and water play. The playroom opens out directly into the garden via sliding patio doors. The children are encouraged to help with planting flowers and vegetables in the garden and watch them grow and water them.

My Experience
I attended my Childminding in the Home NVQ when I registered & I have cared for children for over 30 years now. Some of the families the children were in my care for over 8 years. I offer a home from home environment for the children to learn and develop in their own time. Working with parents is especially important to me & helping children develop & achieve to their own maximum goals. Working together as a team.

My 2 year old went to Nanny Kate's 2 half days a week from 16 months old to 22 months and absolutely loved it. Kate is very caring, she was very flexible and did lots of activities that helped with my daughter's development. Having only a small group of kids meant she got lots of one on one care, as a protective mama I felt she was always safe there. She misses and still asks to see nanny K 4 months later!

Nanny K was fantastic with our little boy. He always came home with crafts / artwork (including a super cute fathers day card!) And was kept busy throughout the day. The set up is amazing and our little one loved the access to outdoors with the sandpit and swing.
Nanny K was really flexible with the days we booked which was perfect for us due to our job roles.
We would 100% recommend her to anyone!

I am writing this review filled with gratitude to Nanny K for taking such excellent care of my son. We looked for the right person to look after Hugo for a while and frankly I have given up hope that we will be able to find someone who will be able to provide this "home away from home" stimulating environment. When Kate messaged me, we arranged a meeting right away and I was blown away by the number of resources she uses to occupy the children in her care and her personality too. Kate spent a lot of time on helping my son speak English as it's his secondary language and she even thought him some sign language. My son brought various art and kraft projects home every day.
Kate is a very kind, patient and empathetic person Hugo took to her very quickly and they created an incredible bond. I will forever be grateful to Kate for giving me peace of mind knowing that my child was in the best hands.

I must of searched through about 45 peoples profile and I felt so lucky that I came across Nanny K.She has a lovely,clean setting separate from her house .This has an en-suite/changing /potty area ,large play room with toys and books galore that is very inviting for any little one and a garden also to play in .She also has an area for the children to eat and colour ordinates everything so the children know what belongs to them .
Since my daughter has been in Nanny Ks care ,we have watched her grow and develop well into a confident happy little girl.
She has come on leaps and bounds with her speech and language and I have Nanny K to thank for this .She also writes her own music seesingsay (can be found on insta and Facebook) and this makes it more fun with the learning for my LO.She does art and crafts too which is really nice and often come home to nice arty pieces my daughter has done .
Besides the excellent setting and wonderful care .Nanny K is the heart and soul of this place .It’s not just a job for her it is a vocation .I feel like she is genuinely interested and invested in having a relationship with my daughter.My daughter also loves Nanny K and comes home happy and calm when collected .I feel confident and reassured that I can go to work and know my daughter is in safe hands .Communication has always been excellent and always contactable when needed .

Even though our little Stan had only been with Kate for less than a year he managed to pick up some basics of the British Sign Language, he really loved the setting and could not wait to go to Kate and play with his buddy Hugo. Kate was a great and patient teacher, helped us with all the routines, from potty training through washing hands and eating to midday naps.
