Sheena Chan

Exceptional English teacher

Sheena is an exceptional English teacher. She helped our son, who has always disliked the subject, prepare for his independent school entrance tests. Not only did she engage him in a subject he'd always resisted, but she also significantly improved his proficiency. Her personalised teaching approach made English interesting, leading to an incredible outcome: my son received scholarship offers from both Eton and Tonbridge. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Outstanding Teacher

We met Sheenan when my son was towards the end of Year 4 and was preparing for the 11+ plus exams. Within 4 months my son’s level of vocabulary and comprehension skills was advanced such that he would write an excellent story and his creative writing was improved. My son passed his 11+ plus exams for both Kent and Medway and he was offered a school with a Kent grammar school despite being out of the catchment area all thanks to Sheenan.

Sheenan also takes a keen interest in her students.

Untrustworthy person

I don’t recommend Sheena. We had very bad experiences with her. She agreed an online lesson and we paid. But she didn’t appear on the day and didn’t answer the call. We sat in front of the scene for half hours and tried calling her several times. We have to give up in the end. But she even didn’t think about apologise and didn’t pay any good attitude… She even didn’t call me back to say apologies.

For the following week, she didn’t let us know she planned to add another student for our 1:1 lesson until I chased for lesson details on the morning of the lesson day. She said we didn’t pay for long term. But we have paid 1:1 for the day already. She said she can refund the difference. But we asked 1:1 from the beginning. Then she said 1:2 is also good and because we didn’t pay for long term. I told her she needs to let parents know in advance!

She was playing tricks and more importantly, she didn’t pay any apologies to us for her missed lesson.

How awful that you are trolling me on every social media platform when we've never had a lesson.
I understand you're disappointed but I gave you an immediate refund & offered alternative times. Sometimes things change. With most people things can be worked out. Instead you try to vilify & defame.
I will continue to offer a very successful service as my reviews demonstrate . All my reviews are from parents that have had a course of lessons from me. sometimes up to two years. You are the 1st to review me having had no lessons.

Amazing tutor

My child took English tuition from Sheena for GCSE and achieved grades 7 & 8 in English language and literature. Sheena’s teaching style helped my child achieve these grades. Her targeted efforts helped my child secure higher grades than the PPEs.

A perfect teacher one can wish for

Sheena is truely a wonderful teacher. She has everything one can wish for. She spent time to understand my son and identify his weakness and problems. She then gave my son tailored tuition lessons with a focus on my son's particular needs. She was always very friendly and patient. My son enjoyed her lessons very much. When I asked my son what he likes Sheena's tuition most, he said he really learned a lot and got answers to many questions that had bothered him for a long time. Importantly, my son became much more confident in English writing and he developed a good routine, i.e. to make a plan and think about his main point before he started writing.
We are 100% happy and we feel deeply grateful for her help and kindness.
