Hi I am Gemma, a mum of 3 aged 11 months 12 and 16
I have plenty of experience working with children especially newborns and infants due to my previous work.
I have paediatric first aid level 1 and 2.
I have all my certificates for all relevant courses needed to provide childcare.
II am currently awaiting my Ofsted inspection so I can start taking grants and vouchers.
My Experience
I am a maternity support worker/ healthcare assistant
I current work as a healthcare assistant for the NHS, I was full time but now only work bank as I am trying a new career.
I have been working in many different areas to gain as many skills as possible and knowledge to help strengthen my own personal development. The main areas I work in is Gynaecology clinics, elective centres, postnatal ward, birthing centre and suite, Urgent care in Burnley and Emergency department at Blackburn hospital. I have also worked in Trauma and orthopaedics ward, ENT ward, critical care, children's assessment ward, children's day care ward, breast clinic, children's gynaecology clinics, ophthalmology clinics, gastro ward. I have completed all mandatory training including the care certificate, I have also been on courses in my own time through the trust to gain further skills and knowledge
My duties have been but not limited to-
* Chaperoning duties
* Keeping each area clean and well stocked for the Nurses, Midwives or Doctors
* Supporting new mums with personal care, breastfeeding, changing and feeding baby,
* providing emotional support for new mums etc
* Supporting Midwives and families in labour
* Assisting with mealtimes for patients
* Completing paperwork
* Scribing for the Midwives when a delivery is taking place
* Personal care
* Transfers to wards, x-rays, scans etc
* General observations
* Recording of ECG
* Cleaning of wounds
* Stock taking
* Patient and family support
* Cleaning duties
* Administration duties
* Processing of laboratory samples
* Patient support and family/ friend’s support
* Mental health and suicide support
* Safeguarding of patients, spotting signs for domestic violence or sexual abuse
* assisting children to theatre, supporting them while being out under anaesthetic and then supporting them coming back round from surgery.
I have completed a infant feeding course with the NHS so I am confidence with feeding from newborn to infants.
I have also completed CRP and life support for newborn, childrens and adults.
I have also have foundation degree in counselling and psychotherapy.
Before I went into healthcare I was running a family business with my mother, I was a chef in our kitchen, I did the cooking, baking the fresh pies. Creating the menu etc and did the cleaning every day.
I have 3 dogs so I am comfortable with animals and can take care of pets and do dog walks for additional costs.
I can also do cleaning duties and prepare meals for additional costs also.
I am available for pregnant women and new mums who need some support to appointments, scans, during labour, afterbirth, feeding support, emotional support etc.
I am currently awaiting Ofsted inspection.
My Qualifications
I have completed paediatric first aid level 1 and 2 and all relevant childcare qualifications
I have done the care certificate through the NHS
I have a driving licence and access to own car.
I have GCSE in Maths, English, Science and religious education
I have a degree in counselling and psychotherapy also have certificates in customer service etc.
My Availability
I am very flexible and can work most hours if needed.

- Household Help from £11.00 per hour
Fees to be arranged depending on hours
Anti-natal and postnatal services - starting at £15 an hour
I can provide animal care, cleaning, shopping errands etc for additional costs
