About Me
Hiya my name is Carla, I am a 43-year-old married mother to three successful adult children (as I call them!) Two sons who are 22 and 20 years old, and our 18 year-old daughter.
I am currently a live out nanny for numerous families, covering some permanent days, adhoc care, babysitting and emergency care plus full weekends as and when needed.
As a self-employed nanny (under my business - Curly Tots Nanny Service), I would be able to fit into your family in whichever way was needed - for example with newborn support / night nannying so you can catch up on that much needed sleep, or as your live-out nanny in the day.
I can also do evenings and I am available overnight if you have to work away, or if you need childcare on holiday this could be an option too. I have a wealth of experience with all age groups.
As you will see below, I have many strings to my bow! You will find me a very patient, organised but fun, trustworthy person.

My Experience
I have 22 years experience in raising my own children, which I believe is the best experience to develop my skills as a nanny!
Suffering from Sleep deprivation?, recovering from a c-section and struggling with feeding with family living away are just a few areas I can relate to given my experiences as a mother.
I have been trained in Breastfeeding and formula feeding by an infant feeding specialist, and I worked with new mums on our local antenatal ward for 6 months. For many years I have helped friends with newborns, providing the advice and support they needed in the early days, weeks and months.
I have first-hand experience with Coeliac disease, trained in using an EpiPen and allergy awareness with nuts, peanuts and soya/milk allergies. Over 9 years pharmacy experience within the NHS and over the counter medicine trained.
I ran a successful Baby and Toddler Group for 7 and a half years every Tuesday in the local village. I have been a Scout Beaver leader for 2 years running successful Beaver camps on many occasions which was very enjoyable.
For two years I was a Playleader at the local infants school before I took up post as the Receptionist in the school, and also cross covered at the Junior school too.
I was a PTA member for over 10 years organising events and one of the best memories was a whole school sleepover to raise funds for the junior school!
Furthermore, I acted as a Chaperone at the local theatre supporting dance shows and multiple productions over 7 years - and I still do this on the odd occasion if extra help is needed.

2024 - (February) - present day - Adhoc care 4 month old baby boy
2024 - (January) - present day - Adhoc Babysitting for twin girls age 5 and boy age 7
2023 (November) - present day - 11 month old Twin Boys and 4 year old girl
2023 (May) - present day - 1 year old boy adhoc care / full days / babysitting
2023 (October) - present day - 6 month old baby girl and five year old girl adhoc care full days / adhoc babysitting (evenings)
2023 (July) - Full day & Overnight, adhoc care for one year old boy and 5 week baby girl
2023 (March) – August 2023 – one year old boy and newborn baby boy (May 2023) worked 3 full days a week. Family moved to Ireland.
2023 – present day – Babysitting two year old boy and four year old girl adhoc care usually once a month.
2023 – present day – Babysitting one year old girl and two year old boy
2021 - August 2023 – adhoc care of a one year old girl (from birth), her six year old sister, and twin boys aged ten, overnight stays or full weekends.
2017- present day - Full days adhoc a few times year - five year old boy
2016 - present day - Babysitting Two boys aged eight and ten, and their one year old sister.
I am the person to go to for childcare advice re: routines/organisation with playrooms, potty training, costumes for dress up days at school, and responding to changes in behaviour.

My Availability
Evenings - Monday to Thursday
Monday - Day taken
Tuesday - Nannying for a family in the daytime.
Wednesday & Thursday for one family in the day time.
Night Nanny/Babysitter - is whichever time suits your family's needs.
For evening babysitting I'd arrive and leave at whatever time requested by yourself.
Saturday or Sunday nights by arrangement (I would not normally work Friday but this can be arranged in advance)
I do travel up to 50 miles from my home.

Carla is a delight to work with and a real ray of sunshine, with her smiley, bubbly personality and hardworking can-do attitude. Since late 2023 she has supported with our (then) 9m old twin boys and 4yo daughter, and already feels like an important part of our family. She is a very experienced nanny and quickly developed a strong relationship with all three children, constantly chatting and playing with them. As well as nannying for our young twins, including putting down for naps, feeding and advice on all aspects of babycare, she is always happy to help with anything and everything the family needs, including playing games with our 4yo, cleaning, tidying, trips out, you name it...! We always look forward to seeing her, and she brings a fabulous sense of fun, order and calm.

After a really stressful time trying to figure out childcare my partner & i found carla & to say that she’s amazing is an understatement! She was able to help us out last minute & our two sons absolutely loved their time with her. From the get go Carla was bubbly, engaging and full of smiles which helped our sons instantly relax around her.

Carla has been working with our family since my son was 4 months old and he is now almost 9 months. She started helping us one day a week and more recently two days a week. She has a great personality for working with babies and children, as she makes everything a game and talks to the baby lots during the day. Carla also ensures the baby’s nursery is tidy and helps with his laundry, which is a huge help. A great bonus for us is that she is also able to drive the baby to classes and play groups. Carla is easy to talk to and has a lot of initiative.

We were so lucky to find Carla to help out looking after my 21 month old and newborn once during the day where she helped me get some things from town and then took my son to the park and then at a party so we could fully enjoy ourselves. She really helped to put my mind at ease not only helping ne with some of the logistics for the party but was amazing looking after both of my little ones and any other children that were around too. It was such a joy to see my son having fun with her while I breastfed by daughter who usually would have had to wait around and then at the party Carla completely looked after my daughter so I was free to be with the other gusts and relax at the party and then she stayed overnight so I didn't have to get up to settle her. Carla is fantastic with kids of all ages, she's friendly , good company and goes out of her way to help you in whatever task. What's more she is so thoughtful, she brought toys with her to entertain my son and then colouring books for the other children at the party. I look forward to having the opportunity to use her services again and would highly recommend her for your nanny needs of children of any age.

Carla has been looking after my 16-month-old son for the last few months. I can't recommend her highly enough, she has so much knowledge about childcare and is brilliant with my son who is always delighted when she comes to look after him. She has a brilliant way of coming up with fun games and new ways to teach him things and I can see the improvement in his development clearly since she started working with us. She's a brilliant nanny.
