About Me
My name is Sherry .I have been a registered childminder for many years. I provide high quality childcare in a family environment. I have a Level 3 in Child Care Learning & Development and also a Level 3 in Childminding Practise. I also have completed courses at a Level 3 standard in Special Needs and Business Practise in childcare. I am a mother to four children but only one lives at home. She worked in a London schools nursery for 6 years but currantly works in a local nursery. She often helps me in the school holidays.My husband also is a registered assistant and is a big help in the setting. I have cared for many children in this time. Many of the children have had brothers and sister that I have also cared for so I have provided continuity of care for the family's. The children are cared for in a home from home environment in a fully equipped play room dedicated to the children I care for and this opens out onto a very safe & secure garden. All children have a learning journey file that is built up over the time they are with me and is given to parents to keep when the children leave. I plan for the children's development using the EYFS framework through observation assessment and planning. I provide opportunities for learning through play and a range of activities. I have many references available for inspection.
My Experience
I have 25 +years of experience in the childcare industry. I have attended many training courses on all areas of childcare and development and have worked with a London Borough council on many projects regarding childcare and childminding when I lived in London. I was a member of a childminding network for 10 years and also a mentor for new childminders helping them start up their new business. I was part of the ECAT programme which encourages children's language development. I have also taken part in the involvement and well-being scheme and have incorporated this into my practise. I have had a lot of experience with young babies, twins and children with disabilities.

My daughter has been going to Sherry’s for 2 years and absolutely loves her time there, often asking when she will be going back and being disappointed to hear it’s not for a few days still! Sherry (along with her husband Gary, who the children all love too) always has activities planned for the children and so many different toys for them to choose from. They take the children to play outside in the garden as much as possible, read with them and tailor activities to their interests and development needs.
Sherry has always been very helpful with advice on things like feeding and potty training and so on, and provides information on what my daughter has eaten and how many nappy changes she’s had etc.
Sherry provides breakfast lunch and snacks and the food is healthy and always is very much enjoyed!
I can’t rate Sherry and Gary highly enough and would recommend their childminding services to anyone.

My son has been going here since he was about 17 months old, he is now 3! Sherry and Gary have felt like part of the family to him. He has enjoyed it so much and always enjoys a day at Sherrys house. She has lots of fun activities and he is always fed really good meals!/snacks and is always well looked after. I couldn't recommend her enough! If i could give more than 5 stars i would.

Sherry is the most amazing childminder and I cannot recommend her enough. I had to go back to work when my daughter was 6 months old which I found very difficult. However I immediately felt at ease leaving her with Sherry and Gary. Sherry has been amazing at supporting me whilst I was still breastfeeding, through weaning and introducing formula when I was ready.
The house is always very clean and all the children are happy when in Sherry’s care. There are always fun and interactive activities for the children and Sherry takes a keen interest in helping with the children’s development. Offering appropriate advice to parents as well.
I am relocating to another part of the UK and feel very sad that my daughter has to leave. I hope I find another childcare provider as outstanding as Sherry. Highly recommended!

My daughter has been attending Sherry and Gary’s since just after her first birthday, and she has been there for just over two years now. She absolutely loves attending and often asks to go in her days off or over weekends. Sherry and Gary have felt like part of the family and myself and my husband are extremely grateful for everything they have done for us, making the transition going back to work very smooth. We couldn’t have asked for a better childcare provider. They really are Outstanding.
As soon as we met Sherry we felt very comfortable with the clean and organised environment. The children are always playing happily together.
Sherry is extremely reliable and has never had a day off sick in the two years we have used her, she gives notice of her holidays for the upcoming year in plenty of time and always keeps us up to date on any news.
She provides healthy and home cooked lunches as well as breakfast and snacks. It’s nice knowing my daughter eats properly there, as she is extremely fussy at home.
We are extremely sad to be moving on to preschool soon and will miss them a lot, as will my daughter.

Sherry has cared for my daughter since she was 6 months old and we have been with her for nearly 2 years now. When we started she was very quick to establish a good relationship with her and provided extra sessions so that she could settle in. Whenever I arrive at her home it's always an upbeat happy environment and the children are always busy playing together.
My daughter is well fed with breakfast, lunch and healthy snacks. Sherry has a really varied toy collection that the children can access themselves and she always encourages good behaviour in all the children in her care in a positive way. In the spring and summer they spend lots of time playing safely in the garden. As soon as we first visited, Sherry was very transparent in telling me all her comprehensive experience working with Harrow Borough Council in a consultant capacity and all of her qualifications and experience. This gave me a lot of peace of mind about her ability and what I could expect. Sherry is always happy to provide information about the children’s naps, nappies, meals, how they have got on and what they've been doing whenever we drop off or pick up the children and she is always happy to advise us about any questions on children's health or social development. She is always genuinely interested to hear about my daughter's development and often chats with us before and after the care.
Sherry has not had even one day of sickness during my time with her – she is really reliable. Lots of notice is given of holidays. Her setting is always really clean, ordered and welcoming and she made several updates to ensure her setting was safe and clean since we've been with her. She speaks to the children in a caring and supportive manner.
The children also love to play with Sherry’s helper-husband Gary who is always full of fun and energy with them.and the children love his sunny disposition.
I do not hesitate to recommend Sherry to anyone looking for childcare in Aylesbury. Her setting has been a home from home for my daughter which is just what we were looking for.
